Once upon a time in Brazil (okay, 1981), Kael Cabral was doodling comic books instead of chatting with classmates. Fast-forward past a few hundred frames of painstaking, old-school animation practice, and he's in New York, animating for big names like HBO and Nike. Then, one late night, Kael played with some shapes, and boom Nobody Sausage was born.
Kael Cabral was born in 1981 in the South of Brazil. He spent most of his early age in Philadelphia (USA) with his mom, dad and younger brother.
Due to his neurodivergence, Kael had difficulties socializing and interacting with other kids. In the meantime he found himself through art, such as drawing and painting and him to create his own comic books.
He majored in Industrial Design because of his passion for arts. At the time there weren't many options for Visual Arts in Brazil so he learned it on his own, animation being his main goal.
The process was slow at first, doing frame by frame of scanned photos, but after some time he became more in touch with Motion Graphics. By then, Kael had discovered many Brazilian animators and started learning After Effects.
Kael has been living in New York for over 15 years. At the beginning it was hard to be part of the industry but in a few years he was working for the biggest agencies in the world. During those years, he worked with clients such as HBO, Nike, Google, Nickelodeon, Amazon, Apple and many more.
Most of his artistic work today is influenced by video games. It also brings back happy memories from his childhood when he played with his brother and cousins.
